From Marlove Cottage it is about half an hour's drive to the Mozambique border. Mozambique has a coastline of no less than 2,500 kilometers, but has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. The beaches of Mozambique are often among the most beautiful beaches in the world. You will find peace, space, golden sand, palm trees and warm water!
A number of these beautiful beaches can be found at Maputo, which is approximately 2 hours (130 km) from Marlove Cottage. This is the Mediterranean-style capital and one of the most developed places in Mozambique. Maputo was founded by the Portuguese and the language is therefore predominantly Portuguese. It is incredibly chaotic and it is teeming with people, especially in the suburbs and slums of the city. Visit the low-lying baixa (old town), discover authentic restaurants. Here you also have a good view of the modern Maputo skyline. If you can handle the smell, the fish market is a must
